Factors that Impact the Cost of Pool Cleaning

Cost of SodThe cost of pool cleaning will increase or decrease based upon a number of factors. Here are a list of factors that will impact the cost:

1. The size of your pool. The cost of pool cleaning will vary depending on the size of your pool. A larger pool requires more time and chemicals and will likely cost more to clean than a smaller pool.

2. Frequency of the visits. If you are willing to do some of the weekly work yourself, some pool cleaners offer bi-weekly and monthly services. On the other hand, some pool cleaners may give you a reduced rate per visit if you have your pool cleaned more often.

3. Do you have an automatic cleaner? The cost of pool cleaning may be less expensive if you have an automatic cleaner.

4. Do you have an indoor or outdoor pool? The cost of cleaning an outdoor pool is slightly more expensive than the cost of cleaning an indoor pool. Outdoor pools are subject to changes in temperature and the addition of rainwater, both of which affect the efficiency of chemicals. Additionally, outdoor pools tend to accumulate more dirt and debris especially after wind or rain storms.

5. Pool usage. The more frequently you use your pool, the more disruptive you will be to the chemical balance of the pool. The chemical balance is also disrupted and the pool tends to gets dirtier when more people use the pool. If your pool gets a lot of use, you will need to have your pool cleaned more often which could result in higher pool cleaning costs.

6. Saltwater or chlorine? The cost of cleaning a saltwater pool is often less than the cost of cleaning a chlorine pool.

Pool Cleaning Cost Estimate Checklist

When evaluating a cost estimate from a pool cleaning service, here are some items to consider:

1. What is included in a cleaning visit? Each company will have its own menu of services. The important thing is for you to know exactly what will be included in a visit. Such as:

- Measuring water chemistry levels
- Providing and adding the necessary chemicals to balance the chemistry
- Vacuuming the pool
- Cleaning the robot bag, skimmer and strainer baskets
- Checking the swimming pool equipment
- Backwashing the filter or wash the cartridges
- Checking all fixtures and modes (sprayers, water falls, spa jets)

2. How often will the pool cleaner come? What are the frequency of the visits? Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly? Will they come on a certain day and at a specific time?

3. Will the pool cleaning company leave any type of written report or recommendations? Does the company leave a written report or checklist with detailed information about the visit? If they note problems or faulty equipment, will they notify you?

4. Does the company also handle pool and equipment repair? If there is a problem with the pool and equipment, it’s good to know whether the company is able to provide these additional services, or whether you are going to have to find another contractor.

Price for openings depend on if you just want basic start up chemicals. Such as shock and algeacide. We also offer chemical testing on site and put in ph+, water hardner, and conditioner/stabilizer. If your pool is full of debris at the time of opening I wouldn't recommend using this service until the debris is removed. Also if you wanted a pool vacuum. Closings are more basic and depends on amount of skimmers, water features, hot tub or spa attached.
